The crimson queen is a laceleaf maple with crimson red leaves from early spring to late fall. Each of the lobes of the leaf is divided into additional lobes, giving the foliage a unique appearance as seen in Japanese Gardens throughout the Pacific Northwest. Prefers acidic, sandy loam soil with good drainage. Hardy to zone 5 with some protection.
